D0189D is a fault stored in your BMW's memory (an ISTA fault code, not a standard OBD-II P-code).
What it means: The chassis module ICM does receive the steering-wheel vibration message for the lane departure warning from the KAFAS camera, but it is not being updated. The vibration warning does not work and a driver-assistance restricted message may appear. Check the camera and wiring; the vibration unit in the steering wheel may also be faulty.
