BMW fault code 30C1

30C1 is a fault stored in your BMW's memory (an ISTA fault code, not a standard OBD-II P-code).

What it means:
DME — engine oil-pressure control (static). The engine management sees the oil-pressure regulation out of range. First check the oil level and condition — topping up or an oil + filter change fixes a large share of cases. If it persists, verify the oil-pressure sensor against a gauge (replace if off); in some cases it points to the oil pump or timing-chain wear. Don't ignore oil-pressure faults — have it checked.
