BMW fault code E1149E

E1149E is a fault stored in your BMW's memory (an ISTA fault code, not a standard OBD-II P-code).

What it means:
The instrument cluster is not receiving the traffic-sign recognition message (0x287) from the KAFAS camera — the speed limit is not shown in the cluster. Typical after a retrofit or an SLI emulator with incorrect coding, a brief bus dropout, a windscreen replacement, or because of a weak battery.
